I came across Johann Schmitt and Ann Dumerauf's marriage certificate, while locating their son's baptism record at St. Mary Parish at Buffalo Grove, Lake County, IL. I am not very good in translating it.

The entry that I am looking at is in parentheses. Sept 18, 1865. I can make out the name Schmidt that is spelled with a "d" instead of two "t's". I can make out Dummerauf, and the witnesses George Wiedner and Adam Horcher. And the priest name Ed Thomas this is a guess. Within the next five years would be when Johann Schmitt moves to Grafton twp, McHenry Co., IL.
If you remember in the baptism record was Weidner surname and now there is one in the Marriage entry of the book. But the Weidner's was a well know name in Buffalo Grove. They may not be related to the Schmitt's at all. And there is Adam Horcher. I think I will try searching out the Adam Horcher name.

Findagrave.com has a Adam Horcher born 1821 Bavaria (Bayern) Germany. b. 1821 d. 188. He would of been about 45 years old when Johann Schmitt was married. This is promising. Adam is buried at St. Mary cemetery in Buffalo Grove, Lake Co, IL.
I check out Adam Horcher's will and there was a Joseph Schmitt that had purchased from Adam Horcher's estate. I that is my Joseph he would be about 23. Did Joseph come from McHenry Co., IL to Lake Co., IL to purchase items at Adam Horcher's estate? I don't think Joseph would of know this man.
The surname Weidner had came up several times in Horcher's will.
